Young Lions

Young Lions FC are a club from Singapore and is under the direct management of the Singapore Football Association. They are also one of the few clubs in the world that have an upper age limit. Players older than 23 years cannot play in their jersey.

The club was founded in 2002 and immediately placed in the highest, and only, rank of Singaporean football. All this with the intention of exposing young players to stronger competition in the hope that it will help them better prepare for international competitions such as the Southeast Asian Games.

The core of the Young Lions team is made up of players who are members of the Singapore U23 national team, but they are also allowed to bring in young foreign players. However, foreign players can only be brought in if there is a possibility that they will play for the Singapore national team in the future. One such player was Serbian player Luka Savić, but he only stayed in Singapore for two years, and he never played for the national team.
